Armourette

Mila Komor

Bachelor

Graduation project by Mila Komor at Design Academy Eindhoven, 2026. Shown during Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven on Design Map, location F5.

Formal clothing has its own language, commonly communicating order and elegance. It can shape confidence, influence body language and transform the act of dressing into a ritual of stepping into a particular role. Mila Komor’s 'Armourette' jewellery collection explores this symbolic power by translating the visual grammar of tailored suits into bold, wearable pieces. Each design embodies and reimagines an element of a suit: a tie becomes a chain, buttons become beads, fabric becomes metal. Created to inspire confidence in young women, the ornaments become a form of personal armour, empowering the wearer through the presence associated with formal dress. Designed to choreograph the act of putting them on, the pieces echo the gestures of dressing in a suit, emphasising adornment as a ritual of preparation. 'Armourette' presents jewellery not simply as decoration, but as contemporary amulets that support identity, presence and self-assurance.
