La Bonne Vivante

Once associated with the pleasures of French banqueting, in ‘La Bonne Vivante’ the person of pleasure is reimagined for an age in which food circulates through images. Produced in collaboration with EKWC European Ceramic Workcentre, the installation centres on a banquet table assembled from ceramic impressions created through moulding, casting and reproduction. As the food itself disappears, only its traces remain, evoking abundance through absence. The table reflects on how contemporary food culture is shaped less by eating than by displaying, documenting and endlessly reproducing what we consume. ‘La Bonne Vivante’ asks what is consumed today: food itself, its image or the desire it creates?
