Don’t Trust Me.

In Korean shamanic rituals, a person’s situation is understood through relationships, emotions, memories and circumstance rather than reduced to a single explanation. ‘Don’t Trust Me’ asks what becomes of this way of thinking in an age of instant online advice. Three interactive sculptures — a kettle, a shower curtain and a broom inhabited by fictional spirits of time, place and relationships — invite visitors to submit a personal question. Instead of providing an answer, the installation returns another question. Refusing prediction or certainty, the installation asks why we seek immediate answers at all, suggesting that understanding may lie less in resolution than in learning to dwell with uncertainty.
